The California Garden in January – Winter Harvests & Delicious Recipes!

In today’s episode of California Gardening, we look at the California garden in the month of January. We take a tour of our vegetable garden, we look at all the harvests we made this month, some delicious dishes we made with our harvests and also the weather in SoCal – hailstorms, rain and more!

Harvests made this month include avocados, purple cauliflower, cilantro, eggplant, hyacinth beans, washington navel oranges, hot peppers, winter radish, greens, spinach, sweet potatoes, tangerines and tomatoes. We used organic vegetable fertilizer to get an abundant yield.

We had some interesting weather here in Irvine, Zone 10, with a hail storm, a lot of rain and finally sunshine.
